This is wonderful finely made Kyo Satsuma Tea Set. They are decorated
over Kyo Satsuma crackle body and cobalt blue area with gold intricately
done by Kusube Sennosuke (1859-1941) who was the father of famous
and one of top ceramist in Kyoto, Japan, Kusube Yaichi (1897-1984).
Each pot and cup/saucer has finely handpainted by Sennosuke’s
factory workmenship. There are mainly two Zashiki scene with
background of Peony tree and butterfly background viewing
garden with Two ladies, and girls in Kimono. One scene look
like lady are teaching little girl manner. The condition of set are
fine condition except noting, one little restoration on the spout of
Tea pot circled in red. It is restored finely with resin.
Other spot is hairline on lower handle area of Tea Pot with circle red.
Each item has Kusube Kanji marking, handwriting signature on the bottom.
Kusube Sennosuke had Kusube Toji Boeki Kojo (Kusube Ceramic
Export Factory starting from 1888.This set is made around 1900’s
