The size of Bowl : 11 3/4'Dia x 4 1/16" H (30 cm x 10.5 cm)
This Hira Mizusashi Bowl is made by Inoue Goutaro (1918 - ? ).
Mizusahi Bowl is water bowl used for Tea Ceremony, but bowl make
beautiful Ikabana (flower arrangement) Bowl. It is very handsome bowl.
It is made by Tama Yaki very rare bowl.
The bowl is stoneware material like Iga Yaki. It came with
Tomobako. The cover of Tomobako writing in Japanese as
"Tama Hira Mizusashi" on upper right. "Goutaro Saku"
(Goutaro made). The condition bowl Is excellent, no chip,
no crack and no hairline. It has inscription of artist name,
inscription on the bottom of bowl.
Please note little line mark on the top of rim are from Kiln.

Bowl had to place the bowl upside down
into Kiln which made these line on top of rim

Inoue Goutaro (1918 - ? )
He was born in Feb. 18th 1918. His family business was silk textile but he was
always attracted in ancient old Japanese Earthenware started when he was young age.
He worked about 20 years in family business of making necktie, silk muffler and
other textile items. However, he always wanted to create different item other than textile.
His collection of Ancient Japanese pottery works are very famous in Hachioji city, Tokyo.
He gave up all of his other business and devoted for creating Tama Yaki (ware). He
studied under Fujiwara Kei who was National Intangible Asset Bizen artist Fujiwara
Kei.(1899-1983). His Tama Yaki works are connection of modern and ancient era such
as pattern from Kodai Jomon People’s (ancient Jomon) design with Goutaro’s
own creation Tama Yaki. His works are widely collected by many Stoneware items
collectors in Japan.
