Linnea Pergola(1953- )
Ms. Pergola was born in Los Angels, California and she lived there for the greater part of her life. That tenure gave Pergola an intimate regard for things urban. She loves the atmosphere, life styles, architecture, lights and energy of city life which provides her with inspiration and ignites her imagination. Her uniquely original technique combines pen and India ink with the brilliant coloration using oil paint. Those, combined with her fine brush technique, give drama to her work in depicting heartwarming subjects and naively portrayed scenes. Pergola's ability to express cities and the environment as nostalgic has captured the imagination of many and is likely to expand in the years to come.
